REGISTRATION POLICIES

Participant Age Policy

All runners under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign a waiver. Individuals under the age of 12 are not permitted to run in the Market to Market® Relay.

Refund Policy 

All registration fees and add-on payments are final and non-refundable under any and all circumstances including cancellation, postponement, or alteration. Any roster changes including captain or runner substitutions should be made via the online Roster Tool. This policy stays in effect whether one of your runners is injured or you have an unexpected business or family emergency. Any inquiry regarding this policy will be directed back to this policy.

Deferral (Transfer) Policy

Team registrations and associated entry fees can be deferred to the following year’s event for a $100 deferral fee up until 60 days prior to event day. Registrations may only be deferred for one year. In other words, Teams that defer to next year’s event, but do not compete in the following year, will forfeit 100% of their entry fees. Any inquiry regarding this policy will be directed back to this page

NEW POLICY ADDED July 2020: In addition to our original policy, we have updated the policy in your favor due to Coronavirus.Within 60 days of event day, team registrations and associated entry fees can be deferred to the following year’s event for a $200 deferral fee up until the published Final Deferral Deadline. After the Final Deferral Deadline, teams will not be able to defer to next year’s event.

Team Captains can make a deferral election by managing their registration.

Weather or Dangerous Conditions Cancellation 

Due to adverse weather or otherwise dangerous conditions, the event may be cancelled. In the event of cancellation under such circumstances, we are not able to provide refunds. However, Team Captains will be guaranteed entry into the following year’s Market to Market® Relay of the same location and will receive a 25% discount off of the following year’s team entry fee.

NEW POLICY ADDED July of 2020: In addition to our original policy we have updated the policy in your favor due to Coronavirus. 

  • Teams will receive an additional 25% discount off of the following year’s team entry fee if the event is cancelled. (To create a total of a 50% discount off the following year’s team entry fee).  [This will also apply to 2020 Market to Market Relay Iowa teams]
  • In the event that the In-Person Event is cancelled due to weather or other dangerous conditions, the In-Person Event will be a Virtual Event and transfer all participants into the Virtual Event. Participants will receive a Virtual Event experience including event participant materials for the current year’s event. Please note: In the event that the In-Person Event is altered to be a Virtual Event, refunds will not be issued and cancellation policies above will be applied.

Disqualifications 

The Market to Market® Relay reserves the right to reject any entry and to disqualify and bar any individual or team from the race. This rejection/disqualification may be based on, but is not limited to, non-payment of race fees, competing with an unofficial number, competing with an official number assigned to another competitor without completing the proper forms, crossing the finish line without having completed the entire course, or providing false information on race entry forms. The Market to Market® Relay reserves the right to change the details of the race at any time. 

Volunteer Requirements 

Unlike many other long-distance team relays, the Market to Market® Relay does not have a requirement that your team must provide volunteers or pay an additional fee for volunteers. However, we are always looking for individuals and groups to assist with the race. Please contact the Race Director with interested individuals or groups

PARTICIPANT MATERIALS POLICES

Participant Shirt Exchange

Participant shirt exchange is available on Event day at the finish line or post-party. After Event day, participant shirts can be exchanged upon request, but participants must cover the cost of shipping. Shirt sizes are not guaranteed after regularly scheduled packet pickup dates. Shirt exchange requests must be made within 2 weeks following the Event.

Shipping of Participant Packet and SWAG

Participant packets and SWAG (race materials received with registration) will not be shipped prior to Event date. No exceptions. Participants should plan to attend regularly scheduled packet pickup dates in order to pick up their packet and guarantee shirt sizing. After Event day, participant SWAG items can be mailed upon request, but participants must cover the cost of shipping. Race bibs are not shipped after the Event. Shirt sizes are not guaranteed after regularly scheduled packet pickup dates. SWAG requests must be made within 2 weeks following the Event.

Awards Policy

Awards will be shipped within two weeks of the event to team captains. Staff will coordinate with captains to verify their shipping address is still accurate.

Looking for your race waiver? 

  • Go to runsignup.com/profile and login. 
  • Select the “Upcoming Events” tab > Select your event > Select “Manage Registration”.
  • Navigate to the Sign Waiver button and you will see the waiver you signed and date you signed it.
