The location of Staging Area is Exchange Point 2 in the Parking Lot of Rosenblatt Stadium. The Staging Area will be the information center for the race and where teams should congregate after dropping Runner 1 off at the Starting Line. There are two reasons for not holding the Staging Area at the starting line.
[1] The starting line is at the Old Market and the amount of free parking available in the Old Market is very limited. Rosenblatt, however, has an enormous amount of space for long-term parking, ample room to host last minute packet pick-up. There is also enough room to hold a last-minute meeting to update teams if there are any course changes, and to remind teams of the rules, so that everyone can race safely.
[2] Vans will have to meet runners at Exchange Point 2 anyway. Logistically it is easier to drop off Runner 1 at the starting line and head immediately to Exchange Point 2, avoiding the traffic jam that would occur immediately after the starting gun is shot off for each wave.

Since parking is such a major concern throughout the race, the runners will start in two waves and merge together at Exchange Points 4 and 5 in Bellevue (both have adequate parking available)
The first wave start will be at 6:30 a.m. The runners in this wave will be the slower runners (running an average of 9- to 10-minute miles based on the 10K times turned in at registration). The second wave will be the faster runners, 8:59-minute miles or lower. The number of runners in each wave depends on the average running pace for the teams that enter into the race.
Teams will drop their first runner (Runner 1) off near the Starting Line/Exchange Point 1 at 11th Street between Howard and Jackson Streets. Vehicles will then immediately proceed to the Staging Area/Exchange Point 2 at Rosenblatt, where the majority of the check-in procedures will take place. This should limit the amount of cars and traffic in the Old Market.
Recommended Drop Off Zones (11th St. will be closed between Howard and Jackson from 6:00 a.m. to 7:15 a.m.):
Howard St. between 12th and 10th St.
Corner of 12th and Jackson St.
